May NEWS!
Tentative Happenings in our Class

Week of November 3 - 7 It’s hard to believe its November already. This week we will be talking about Saints as we honor All Saints Day, which was November 1. We will make a necklace with pictures of the Saints. Sr. Kathy will come into our class to tell us what a Saint is….. A special friend and follower of Jesus. This week we will learn about the letter “F”. We will be discussing Feelings, Family and Friends. As we prepare for Thanksgiving we will spend time remembering all the wonderful people and things that we feel so thankful for. Also, we will be introducing our numbers beginning with the number 0.

Week of November 10 - 14 On Monday, we will talk about Veterans Day and honor our Veterans with a special Patriotic March at Flag time. Our letter this week is the letter “G”. We will talk about the joy of giving and doing for others. We will be learning about the first Thanksgiving and making some fun art projects.

Week of November 17 - 21 Our letter this week is the letter “H”. We will spend time this week learning about Health and our Human Body. We will talk about how our bodies work as well as things we can do to keep our bodies healthy and happy. Be sure to watch for some of our great Thanksgiving art work.

Week of November 24 - 28 This week we will be making butter and cooking cornbread as we prepare for our own Thanksgiving feast. We will not be introducing a new letter this week. Our focus will be on working together just as the Pilgrims and Native Americans did.

Miss Beth’s Final Note October was a very fun month. Our class loved Dinosaur week. We had a great time acting like “Paleontologist” and “digging” for “fossils”. Pumpkin week was great too. We explored both the insides and outsides of our two pumpkins. We then enjoyed snacking on our roasted pumpkin seeds. The class voted on which seeds tasted better, and it seemed the seeds from the white pumpkin were tastier than the seeds from the Cinderella pumpkin. We had a very enthusiastic sing along in Sr. Kathy’s Barn, which was great fun. We ended October with an excitement filled Halloween celebration. Thank you for all of the yummy treats.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come to me.

Sincerely,
Miss Beth, Sr. Annie, Miss Dawn & Miss Doreen
