Nursery Happenings
for the month of March

1st Week March 1st - 5th This week we will talk about wind – good wind and bad wind. We will also talk about the WINDY month of March and discuss the saying,” March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb.” For art, we will be making a Lion and Lamb wind sock and kites.

2nd Week March 8th – 12th We will begin our St. Patrick’s art work – look out for leprechauns, rainbows and shamrocks! We will be reviewing colors with our rainbow artwork and learning a new rainbow song!

***School pictures will be on Wednesday the 10th.***

3rd Week March 15th – 19th We will celebrate the feast day of St. Patrick on Wednesday the 17th. There will be some “green” treats for our celebration – wear something green and beware of the leprechauns! We will also be starting our Easter art work this week.

4th Week March 22nd – 26th We will welcome Spring and hopefully enjoy some warmer weather! As we welcome spring, we will begin a “new life” theme. We are going to be learning about baby animals that are born in spring. I will read the story “Are you my Mother?” by P.D. Eastman. We will have a matching mother and baby farm animal game. In preparation for Easter, we will learn about the symbol of the butterfly.

5th Week March 29th – April 2nd “Holy Week” is upon us. We will dye eggs on Monday in preparation for our Easter Celebration. The story of Easter will be read and the meaning of Easter will be discussed. At our Carmelite gathering, we will enjoy baked bread, chocolate, hard boiled eggs and drink grape juice! There will be NO SCHOOL on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. A blessed and beautiful Easter to all!!
