Tentative Happenings in our Class

 

Week 1           April 29th  - May 3rd   This week will be our “building” week.  We will learn to name
the many tools used for building.  The children will create their masterpieces using
tools and various blocks .  May 1st is the feast of St. Joseph the Worker.  We will   
learn about his life and his job as a carpenter

Week 2           May 6th – 10th   . This week we will be learning about insects.  We will read the
book “The Grouchy Lady Bug” by Eric Carle.  And we will continue working on our
 scissor skills.  We will finish up our Mother’s Day gifts and talk about Moms.  We
will discuss the hard jobs Mom’s have and why we love them so much! 
              A very Happy Mother’s Day to all of our special Moms!!!

Week 3           May 13th – 17th      This week we will be learning about zoo animals.  In addition,
we will be preparing for our Annual Carmelite In-School Circus, which is Friday,
May 24th.  The children will learn about the many and different jobs, that are
involved in a circus.  Each child will have the opportunity to take part in our circus. 
We will have animal acts (our class in animal costumes), clowns (clown costumes), hoola- hoops, balance beam acts and much, much more.

Week 4           May 20th – 24th   Excitement will be in the air as we anticipate our Circus Day. 
Each child will have the opportunity to take part in our circus.  And the children
will love creating their own event.  If your child would like to have his or her
face painted for the circus, please have them at school by 8:15 on Friday.

No School Monday, May 27th - Happy Memorial Day

Week 5           May 29th & 31st    This week we will learn about ocean animals.  We will read the story of “Rainbow Fish” and make a rainbow fish for art. 

Week 6           June 3rd – 7th Our school year is rapidly coming to a close.  We will start preparations for our end of the year program.  Parents are invited to come and join us for our Program of Songs on Friday,  June 7th at 11:00AM.   Last day of school is June 7th.
