Tentative Happenings in our Class
Week of May 5 - 9
This is sure to be a fun week. This is our Construction Week. We will learn about Saint Joseph the Worker, his Feast Day is celebrated on May 1. We will be carpenters, architects, engineers etc. We will use our creative imaginations and a variety of blocks and tools to build our own structures. Throughout the month of May, we will be learning about the different animal families. To kick off our lesson on animal families, we will be having a special visit from Curious Creatures on Wednesday, May 7. The animal families we will be learning about this week are Amphibians and Reptiles. Our letter this week will be "W".
Week of May 12 - 16
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz… this week we will be learning about Insects. We will be making fun "Bug" glasses and taking a nature walk in search of Insects. Our letter for this week is the letter "X". In addition, we will begin practicing for our Annual Carmelite in-school Circus, which is on Friday, May 23. Each child will have the opportunity to participate in our circus.
Week of May 19 - 23
The animal family we will be learning about this week is Mammals. Our letter for the week is the letter "Y". Friday we will participate in a fun Circus with the other classes. Each child will have the opportunity to take part in our Spectacular Circus!!!
No School Monday, May 26, due to Memorial Day
Week of May 26 - 30
This week we will be exploring life under the sea. We will also be working on the concept of same and different. We will compare and contrast the similarities and differences of the animals we have learned about. Our letter for this week is the letter "Z".
